Oliver's House Sea-Side Fund
In January 2008, Oliver's House acquired a property with a large three bedroom house in Mtwalume on the South Coast, Kwazulu Natal. The idea of the Oliver's House Sea-side Fund was born.
After Renovating the house we planned on taking ten children from the Nomthandazo Childrens Care Centre twice a month to spend a long weekend experiencing the wonders of the sea. As these children have never had the opportunity to see the sea, this experience would stay with them forever.
As you all know here at Oliver's House, education is one of our biggest initiatives, and so in keeping with that, we would also be making educational trips to Ushaka Marine world and Croc World as well as other points of interest.
After much excitement from us and the donors the project went into full swing with the children embarking on two trips down to the coast. Unfortunately due to the economic climate heading into recession Oliver's House had no choice but to shelve the project.
